Briefly
Program description
The programme is implemented by the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) within the AgroHub project in cooperation with the Southern Development Strategy NGO. Its purpose is to support small and medium-sized farmers in adopting climate-smart agriculture by financing the purchase of Ukrainian-made no-till or minimum-tillage seeding equipment.
Main Information
Eligibility
The programme is open to small and medium-sized farmers who meet the established eligibility requirements.
Key eligibility criteria include:
- the applicant must be a legal entity or an individual entrepreneur (sole proprietor);
- agricultural activities must be carried out on up to 500 hectares of land;
- the programme supports the purchase of new Ukrainian-made seeding equipment for no-till (No-Till) technology from manufacturers or their authorised distributors;
- applicants must demonstrate technical readiness to implement No-Till technology (availability of a tractor and sprayer) or provide a clear transition plan.
Applicants are also required to:
- consent to signing an agreement with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP);
- agree to project monitoring, including the submission of supporting documents, geo-tagged photographs of the equipment, and on-site monitoring visits;
- pay the initial instalment for the equipment purchase, after which the programme provides its share of the funding.
Financing
The grant amount is determined on an individual basis, but may not exceed USD 20,000 or 50% of the equipment cost excluding VAT.
When calculating the grant amount:
- only the equipment cost excluding VAT is taken into account;
- delivery costs and pre-sale setup of seeding equipment are not eligible and are not included in the grant calculation.
For example, if the equipment costs UAH 800,000 excluding VAT, the maximum grant amount may be UAH 400,000, which is equal to 50% of the equipment value excluding VAT.
