Training Grants for IDPs in Lviv Oblast from People in Need

The Czech humanitarian organization "People in Need" announces a micro-grant competition within the framework of the "From Skills to Success" project, implemented with the financial support of the people of the Czech Republic. The initiative aims to support internally displaced persons living in Lviv Oblast who seek to acquire a new profession, undergo training, or retrain for employment and increased economic self-sufficiency.

Under the program, participants can receive up to 88,000 UAH. The actual grant amount depends on the cost of the chosen training and includes payment for professional courses, as well as, if necessary, a one-time financial assistance of up to 13,000 UAH for logistical expenses (travel, accommodation) if the training takes place outside your place of residence. Tuition payments are transferred directly to the education provider in two stages: 50% before the start of training and 50% after its completion and the submission of supporting documents.

The program is designed for individuals who do not engage in entrepreneurial activity, hold the status of an internally displaced person (IDP), and reside in Lviv Oblast after February 24, 2022.

• Choose a service provider that officially conducts educational activities in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine and has a registered relevant KVED (85.59, 85.32, or 85.42).

• Up to 88,000 UAH per participant (the actual amount depends on the cost of the chosen training).
• The full cost is covered by the grant; additional co-financing is not required.
• Tuition payments are made on the basis of a tripartite agreement in two stages: 50% is transferred before the start of the training course, and the remaining 50% is paid after its completion, provided that supporting documents confirming the actual completion of the course are submitted.
• Additional one-time assistance of up to 13,000 UAH to cover travel and accommodation expenses may be allocated for justified needs if the training takes place in-person outside your place of residence (this amount is included in the general limit of up to 88,000 UAH).
• Payment for services from official education providers with relevant KVEDs (85.59 — other types of education, 85.32 — professional education, 85.42 — higher education).
• Transport and accommodation expenses associated with participating in in-person training outside your place of residence.

Expenses not funded by the grant:

• Foreign language courses.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Esoteric and pseudoscientific practices.
• Driving courses, except when obtaining an additional category is a mandatory condition for further employment.

• Acquiring a new profession, undergoing training, or retraining for employment and increasing economic self-sufficiency.
• Completing a full course of professional training or retraining lasting no longer than 6 months.
• Studying with a service provider that officially conducts educational activities in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine and has a registered economic activity code (KVED) for conducting training courses, seminars, or workshops, specifically: 85.59 (other types of education), 85.32 (professional education), or 85.42 (higher education).
• The study format can be either online or offline.
• If multiple training programs are chosen, they must be provided by a single education provider and relate to the same professional field.

• Detailed description of the purpose and motivation for undergoing training in the completed application.
• Readiness to complete a full course of professional training or retraining lasting no longer than 6 months.
• Compliance of the education provider with the official requirements of Ukrainian legislation (having a registered KVED for training courses, seminars, or trainings, specifically: 85.59, 85.32, or 85.42).
• Justification, economic feasibility, and compliance of the training cost with market prices for similar courses, taking into account content, duration, format, and instructor qualifications.
• Alignment of the chosen course with acquiring or developing professional competencies necessary for further employment or launching economic activity.

• Conclusion of a tripartite agreement between the participant, the education provider, and the "People in Need" organization before the start of training.
• Tuition payment in two stages: 50% is transferred before the start of training, and the remaining 50% is paid after its completion.
• Submission of supporting documents by the education provider regarding the participant's actual attendance and completion of the training in order to disburse the second tranche.
• Readiness to provide documents confirming the status of an internally displaced person and other information necessary for participation in the project.
