Prize for the preservation and protection of intangible cultural heritage in 2026

The prize is awarded to folklorists, ethnographers, researchers, scientists, enthusiast collectors, folklore groups, soloists (vocalists, instrumentalists, and dancers), master teachers, and heads of children's creative schools of folk arts and crafts, whose activities contribute to the identification, recording, preservation, and popularization of the ethnocultural heritage and regional characteristics of the Ukrainian people. The number of participants in a group applying for the Prize cannot exceed 10 people.

• The prize is awarded to candidates: folklorists, ethnographers, researchers, scientists, enthusiast collectors, folklore groups (not exceeding 10 people), soloists (vocalists, instrumentalists, and dancers), master teachers, and heads of children's creative schools of folk arts and crafts. Proposals for candidates are submitted to the Ministry by professional creative unions and associations, cultural institutions, educational and scientific institutions, cultural-artistic, and non-governmental organizations.

Activities that contribute to the identification, recording, preservation, and popularization of the ethnocultural heritage and regional characteristics of the Ukrainian people.

• Deadline for submitting materials: up to October 1, 2026.
• Awarding of the Prize: annually in December.

• By October 1, 2026, a petition in arbitrary form must be prepared along with a cover letter and a list of mandatory documents.
• Documents are sent to the postal address of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine: 19 Ivan Franko St., Kyiv, 01601.
• An electronic version of the documentation must be sent to the email: ts0211@ukr.net.
• The day of nominating a candidate is considered the day of registration of the cover letter with documents at the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine.

The creative output and activities contributing to the identification, recording, preservation, and popularization of the ethnocultural heritage and regional characteristics of the Ukrainian people are evaluated.

• Along with the cover letter, a petition for the award in arbitrary form is submitted, accompanied by:
• materials certifying the candidate's creative output in the form of photos, audio or video recordings (on electronic media), printed products;
• photocopies of reviews and publications in the mass media;
• letters of recommendation (if available);
  characteristics and a photograph of the candidate;
• copies of the identity document and the document on assigning the taxpayer's registration card number or passport (for persons who refused the TRN due to religious beliefs and have a mark in the passport). If the candidate is a team, the relevant document copies of its head are submitted;
• consent to the processing of personal data (in accordance with Article 6 of the Law of Ukraine "On Personal Data Protection").

The prize is awarded on a competitive basis in accordance with the Regulation on the prize for the preservation and protection of intangible cultural heritage, approved by the order of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine dated May 22, 2017, No. 438, registered with the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine on June 13, 2017, under No. 735/30603.
