Program description
The program aims to support agricultural producers by promoting the cultivation of niche crops as a means of adapting to climate change and improving the efficiency of farm planning and development.
The grant program is implemented with the support of the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) as part of the AgroHub initiatives.
Main Information
Eligibility
1. Eligible applicants are agricultural producers who farm up to 500 hectares and are either legal entities or individual entrepreneurs.
2. The farm must be registered in one of the following communities:
- Bashtanka District (Mykolaiv Oblast): All communities;
- Mykolaiv District (Mykolaiv Oblast): Voskresenska, Zavodska (Pervomaiska); Shevchenkivska, Halitsynivska;
- Beryslav District (Kherson Oblast): Velykooleksandrivska, Vysokopilskaya, Kalynivska; Kochubeivska;
- Kherson District (Kherson Oblast): Chornobaivska and Darivska.
3. Within the scope of the program, niche crops are defined as spring crops with a short or medium growing season (60–110 days) that are adapted to the arid conditions of southern Ukraine and do NOT belong to the traditional crops (wheat, barley, sunflower, corn, soybeans).
Financing
The amount of support is 2,000 UAH per hectare of niche crops planted for the 2026 harvest.
Supported Activities
Only the following are eligible:
- spring niche grain and industrial crops;
- those grown using the continuous cropping method;
- harvested using combine harvesters;
- grown for commercial production.
Forage crops are not eligible!
The program’s primary crop:
- oilseed flax.
Additional crops:
- mustard;
- chickpeas;
- coriander;
- lentils.
Applications for other crops may be submitted following an individual consultation with AgroHub.
Roadmap
Application and Implementation Deadlines:
- Application submission: by April 26, 2026.
- Application review: by May 10, 2026.
- Payments: May–June 2026.

Documents must be sent in a single email to Mykolaiv.Agrohub@wfp.org, specifying the name of the sole proprietorship or legal entity in the email subject line and in the file names.
Evaluation Criteria
Selection is conducted on a competitive basis.
Preference will be given to farmers who:
- practice sustainable agriculture; operate in communities near the front lines;
- demonstrate responsibility and an effective approach to farming;
- can provide a detailed description of their activities in their application.
Required Documents
Within the application process, applicants are required to submit a defined set of documents via email. The list varies depending on the type of applicant.
For individual entrepreneurs (FOP):

Extract from the DAR system indicating the total area of agricultural land.

Bank statement confirming the opening of a current account.

Copy of passport and tax identification number.
For legal entities:

Extract from the DAR system indicating land area.

Statistical form 29-sg for 2025.

Thus, all applicants must prepare supporting documents related to land, finances, and operations, according to their status.
