Program description
The “Community Initiatives Support” program is implemented by ADRA Ukraine in partnership with ADRA Denmark, with funding from the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (DANIDA) and support from DanChurchAid and Norwegian Church Aid in Ukraine. The program aims to support local initiatives that help communities overcome the effects of the crisis, recover, and develop.
Main Information
Eligibility
Within the grant program, civil society organizations, initiative groups, and local communities are invited to apply with project ideas.
Key requirements for participants and ideas:
- initiatives should aim at improving community life;
- be relevant to current needs and feasible to implement;
- deliver benefits to a broader community.
Priority is given to projects that:
- contribute to community recovery;
- strengthen social cohesion;
- improve access to basic services;
- support the development of local solutions.
Financing
Within the grant program, 10 projects will be selected and supported.
Funding:
- the grant amount per initiative ranges from USD 5,000 to USD 10,000;
- funding is provided per individual initiative.
Supported Activities
Within the “Community Initiatives Support” program, activities are supported that focus on addressing social challenges and community development, particularly in selected communities.
Program geography:
Arbuzynska, Bashtanska, Bereznehuvatska, Horokhivska, and Pervomaiska communities.
Supported activities:
- participation in facilitated community meetings to shape project ideas;
- collaborative development and refinement of project concepts;
- submission of projects for selection by an independent committee;
- implementation of selected initiatives with financial and mentoring support;
- activities aimed at mitigating crisis impacts and supporting vulnerable groups
Roadmap
Within the program, the roadmap begins with an initial stage of participant pre-registration.
Key steps:
- participants must complete registration by May 8 at 12:00;
- after registration, all participants are invited to offline meetings in their communities;
- communication is conducted via email, and participants are also added to a shared Telegram chat;
- during the meetings, participants can discuss ideas, identify community needs, and jointly define priorities.
