Briefly
Program description
The Charitable Organization “Pride” announces the launch of the “LIGHT FOR CHILDHOOD” program, aimed at providing children's institutions across Ukraine with modern alternative and backup power solutions.
The program provides for the donation of an equipment package valued at up to UAH 2 million for the establishment of an autonomous energy supply system.
The program is expected to:
- ensure uninterrupted operation and strengthen the energy resilience of children's institutions;
- reduce risks associated with power outages and blackouts;
- lower electricity costs for beneficiary institutions in the long term;
- create safe and comfortable conditions for children and staff.
Main Information
Eligibility
Eligible applicants include kindergartens, schools, children's rehabilitation centers, orphanages, and other institutions serving orphans or children in vulnerable circumstances.
Both public and private children's institutions may apply, provided they:
- are duly registered in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine;
- have been operating for at least three years;
- provide care, support, rehabilitation, education, or social services for children;
- have no outstanding tax liabilities;
- are not involved in ongoing litigation or legal proceedings that could affect the implementation of the project;
- have not received similar support from other donors or foundations.
Financing
Under the program, the selected beneficiary will receive an energy independence equipment package consisting of:
-
Powerwall 3, Single-Phase ROW Version (Tesla) — 3 units
-
Powerwall 3 Expansion Module, U.S.A. Version (Tesla) — 2 units
-
Wall Mount Kit, Part No. Tesla 1978069-00-C (Tesla) — 2 units
-
Backup Gateway 2 Energy Management Controller, EMEA/ROW Version (Tesla) — 1 unit
Technical Specifications of the System
The system provides backup power for critical loads based on Tesla Powerwall 3 technology and consists of three Powerwall 3 inverter units and two expansion modules. The total usable storage capacity is approximately 67.5 kWh. The inverter capacity provided by the three Powerwall 3 units can deliver up to 33 kW, depending on the commissioning configuration. The expansion modules increase the available energy storage capacity but do not provide additional inverter output.
The system operates automatically. In the event of a grid outage, the Backup Gateway isolates the facility from the external power grid, after which the Powerwall system continues supplying electricity to connected critical loads without requiring staff intervention.
All equipment is brand new and currently located in Kyiv, Ukraine. The program covers the cost of the equipment only. Transportation of the equipment to the beneficiary institution, installation, commissioning, and any related works are not included in the program and shall be the sole responsibility of the selected beneficiary. Any costs associated with transportation, installation, commissioning, and start-up works (if required) must be covered by the beneficiary.
