Government grants in Ukraine: how to get financial support in 2026
In 2026, government grants in Ukraine are a practical tool for financing business, agriculture, manufacturing, employment, and culture. The state supports business startups (up to UAH 2,5 million), agricultural projects (greenhouses, orchards, storage facilities — over UAH 7 million), manufacturing (up to UAH 16 million), and offers compensation for hiring internally displaced persons and adapting workplaces. Some programs target veterans and cultural initiatives (up to 100% funding). Grants typically cover equipment, materials, construction, and marketing. However, recipients must create jobs, operate officially, and pay taxes. Applications are submitted via the Diia portal with a business plan, and decisions are usually made within 10–20 working days. The key to success is a clear plan, realistic budget, and full compliance with program requirements.
New terms of the “Own Business” program in 2026: what has changed for businesses
In 2026, the “Own Business” grant program will undergo a major update aimed at supporting both business start-ups and the expansion of existing companies in Ukraine. The program will introduce separate support tracks for launching a business and scaling operations, while the maximum amount of grant funding will increase to UAH 2.5 million . The updated model will also introduce a bonus system. Additional funding opportunities will be available for young entrepreneurs, veteran-owned and relocated businesses, internally displaced persons (IDPs), as well as companies operating in frontline regions or implementing projects in priority sectors of the economy. Grant funding may be used for purchasing equipment, renovating premises, expanding production, digitalization, and marketing. Applications will be submitted through the Diia portal based on a business plan and an assessment of the project’s economic potential. The updated program is expected to make state support more flexible, accessible, and focused on the long-term development and resilience of Ukrainian businesses.
