How to Apply

To participate in the grant competition, the applicant must prepare and submit the required application package in accordance with the programme requirements.

Step 1. Prepare a Confirmation Letter

The applicant must submit a letter in free form or using the provided template, addressed to the Fund and signed by the head of the organization or an acting representative. The letter must confirm that the Developer meets the general eligibility requirements.

Step 2. Obtain an Extract from the Unified State Register

A full extract from the Unified State Register must be provided. The document must be issued no earlier than the date of the competition announcement. If legal entities are among the founders, extracts concerning those entities must also be submitted.

Step 3. Obtain a Certificate of No Tax Debt

The applicant must provide a certificate confirming the absence of tax arrears. The document must be valid at the time of submission and contain the required information. The certificate remains valid for 10 calendar days from the date of issuance.

Step 4. Prepare a Letter Confirming No Salary Arrears

A letter in free form or based on the provided template must be submitted. The document should confirm that, as of the first day of the month in which the application is submitted, the organization has no outstanding salary-related debts.

Evaluation Criteria

Applications submitted under the grant program undergo several review and assessment stages. The evaluation process differs depending on whether the proposal relates to artificial intelligence or missile technologies and includes both compliance checks and expert assessment.

🤖For artificial intelligence projects, the application passes through:

  • a first compliance stage, which verifies information about the development and its compliance with program requirements (typically up to 2 working days);
  • a preliminary review and eligibility verification after admission by the Fund;
  • a second compliance stage (financial review), which examines information about the developer (typically up to 3 working days);
  • review by the Supervisory Board and a project pitch session (online or offline).

At each stage, applicants may be requested to revise and resubmit information (up to 5 calendar days and no more than four times) or the application may be rejected. The Supervisory Board may approve funding, reject the proposal, postpone consideration, or request additional materials.

🚀For missile technology projects, the selection process consists of four evaluation stages:

  • internal compliance review to verify eligibility and compliance (up to 10 days);
  • a defense assessment, during which the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine evaluates innovation, technical maturity, and readiness;
  • Brave1 expert evaluation, where three experts assign scores based on the expected impact of the grant and development activities;
  • final approval by the Supervisory Board following application review and a developer presentation.

To pass the Brave1 expert evaluation, applicants must obtain at least 6 points. Low scores during the defense assessment may result in rejection of the application.

Application status can be monitored through the web portal throughout the review process.
