Program description

The program is implemented by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine, with financial support from the Government of Canada. The goal is to support the stability of the agricultural sector by expanding access to grain storage infrastructure, reducing post-harvest losses, and lowering logistical costs. Selected participants will receive modular grain storage units with a capacity of 1,000 tons each. The total storage capacity planned is up to 100,000 tons of grain.

Eligibility

Participation is open to agricultural producers who:

  • are registered in the State Agrarian Register (SAR);
  • operate in Poltava, Rivne, Volyn, or Zhytomyr regions;
  • cultivate between 200 and 1,000 hectares of land actively used for production in the specified regions;
  • priority is given to rye producers and female farmers.

Financing

The assistance is aimed at providing equipment (modular grain storage units) for on-site harvest storage. This allows farmers to independently determine the timing of product sales and avoid selling grain at low prices immediately after harvest.

Storage of grain crops, particularly rye, in modern modular facilities to meet the country's domestic needs and control product sales.
