Program description

The “Microgrant Competition in the Poltava Territorial Community” is held to create conditions for dialogue and cooperation between residents, businesses and local self-government bodies for the sustainable development of the community and for cultural and educational impact on its residents.

The competition is organized by the NGO “Mistohub”.

“Mistohub” is a city café, shop and event space where 80% of profits go to funding social projects of Poltava residents.

The competition is conducted to support ideas that contribute to the development of the Poltava community, in particular in the cultural and educational spheres, as well as to develop dialogue between the community, business and local authorities; the total competition budget is 192,000 hryvnias.

Eligibility

The following are eligible to participate: public organizations; charitable foundations; community initiative groups (registered and informal); individual applicants.

The following are not eligible: politically affiliated organizations and individual applicants; religious organizations.

Supported Activities

Projects that meet the priorities of the competition and contribute to the sustainable development of the Poltava territorial community, cultural and educational influence on its residents, as well as the development of dialogue between the community, business, and local authorities.

Priority topics:

  • social and inclusive initiatives;
  • culture and art;
  • education and skills development;
  • urban planning, spatial changes;
  • ecology and sustainable development.

Preference will be given to projects that offer creative, innovative solutions to problems within the competition's priorities and/or involve residents in collaboration and co-creation.

Roadmap

The results of the contest will be announced by February 4, 2026, on the Mistohub social media pages and sent to the winners by email.

How to Apply

Applications are submitted during the period specified in the competition announcement (at least 30 calendar days).

Applications are submitted electronically by completing a Google form, the link to which is published in the competition announcement; for this grant season, the application is via the Google form at https://forms.gle/GYD2P2ts5TmzC2XY9

Evaluation Criteria

Technical criteria:

  • no support for the aggressor country;
  • no conflict of interest with members of the MistoHub board;
  • the applicant is not a winner of the competition in the calendar year of application;
  • the applicant is not a politically affiliated person or organization, is not a religious organization;
  • the project budget does not exceed the maximum amount;
  • the project timeframe does not exceed 6 months. 

Substantive criteria:

  • compliance with at least one priority of the competition;
  • contribution to the sustainable development of the Poltava territorial community and cultural and educational influence;
  • achievability of results within the specified time and financial limits;
  • availability of creative, innovative solutions to problems within the priorities and/or involvement of residents in cooperation and co-creation.

Required Documents

  • аpplication form with all mandatory sections filled in;
  • project budget in hryvnias;
  • information about the applicant (registration documents for registered civil society organizations; 
  • CV for individual applicants;
  • activity CV for informal groups);
  • one project presentation slide containing the required information (project title and goal, budget, expected results, activities to achieve them, relevance to the community and compliance with at least one competition priority).

Updates / Announcements

The Mistohub team organizes an information webinar for potential applicants no later than two weeks before the final submission deadline to explain the competition conditions and answer organizational and procedural questions (excluding questions about the substance of project proposals).

Reporting and Compliance

Upon completion of the project, the winner submits descriptive and financial reports in the prescribed forms.

MistoHub may terminate the agreement in case of violation of the terms of the grant contract by the project executor, non-compliance with the criteria, or submission of false information at the stage of application or project implementation.

Legal Terms

The Regulation on the microgrant competition in the Poltava territorial community enters into force from the moment it is approved by the decision of the Mistohub NGO Board. Mistohub may terminate the contract if the project implementer violates the grant contract conditions, fails to meet the criteria or provides false information at the application or implementation stage.
